Artisans
Ekta Foundation Trust (E F T) is a charitable
non-profit organisation, registered in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in 2001.
E F T was
founded by Shri. Rajagopal P.V. a well known Gandhian philosopher, who
function as its chairman, and also the founder of Ekta Parishad Movement.
Ekta Foundation has a board of five trustees from different part of India.
E F T audit its accounts in both contributions
and payments, production and marketing, export yearly by a well known
chartered accountants firm called M/s. S.L.Chhajed & Co, Bhopal.
The purpose of E F T is to preserve and
promote the handicrafts industry and generate employments for rural/urban
slum people and most of them are women. E F T providing marketing services
through out India and European countries there for we kept a brand name i.e.
EKTA.
At present Ekta working in near by village and
slums of Bhopal City for production of different craft items. And also
involved in production of tassar silk materials in champa district of
Chhattisgarh state. The project involves more than 100 peoples in different
area.
Goods are sold at E F T out lets or by export
and every order will –placed through Ekta Fountion’s office.
Today ekta marketing fashion bags, conference
files, tassar scarf, tassar stoles, tassar shawls, Jute bags and show
pieces. Ekta also have a broad net work of production groups in different
states like uttaranchal where producing handmade greetings cards (natural
leafs & flowers pasted in hand made paper cards), Orissa where producing
screw pine products, Karnataka where producing reliable jute and cotton mix
bags, chhattisgarh for famous in tassar silk production, Kerala where
producing bamboo pens. All this products are hand made and from different
villages and the focus of Ekta’s activities is income generation for women
and rural artisans. More than 80 percent of Ekta’s artisans are women s,
many of them from rural villages.
EFT work as a bridge between the producers and
buyers.
Surplus money from E FT’s commercial
activities fund utilize for ekta parishad’s land struggle and also creating
a corpus fund for this producers welfare.
